Keith Hamlin is the owner of Just Dance Music Productions, a DJ since 1978. He began in high school, spinning for studies, school dances and one nightclub, Uncle Sam’s in Natasket Beach, now called the Red Parrot. He learned music theory and several instruments playing in his junior high and high school bands and the Pembroke Imperials drum and bugle corp.
A few years later, Keith joined the Air Force, and was lucky enough to be stationed at Terrejon Air Base in Madrid, Spain. He began DJing at the Youth Center nightclub, then the recreational center, and moved on to the Officer’s Club and Enlisted Club as well. Playing for a crowd from all over the US and Europe was quite a learning experience, and soon he was offered work at Cash Bar and Amarillo’s in Madrid’s nightclub district. After playing all over the United States and performing some of the first mobile DJ gigs in Spain, he moved back home to Massachusetts, and has performed there since 1989.
Keith has served as the president and founder of the American Disc Jockey Association Massachusetts Chapter and is planning on finishing his book about DJs later this year.
